Who We Are
Helping Patients, since 1990.
Snehabhavan provides hospital navigation, patient navigation, low-cost serviced accommodation & spiritual guidance to patients & their by-standers undergoing treatment & medical care at Christian Medical College, Vellore. A charitable institution, the first of its kind in Vellore was established in 1990 as a mission project in health care under the Madras diocese of the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church.
Our Brief History

H.G Zachariah Mar Dionysius
Our Founder
Snehabhavan is a mission project in healthcare under the Madras Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. This was started in 1990, with 8 rooms to commemorate the 60th (Shashtipoorthi) Birthday celebrations of H.G Zachariah Mar Dionysius Metropolitan of Blessed Memory, the first metropolitan of Madras Diocese. At present, there are 71 rooms spread across three floors in the main building and 5 Annex buildings. There is a beautiful Chapel that caters to the spiritual needs of the people by conducting prayers and meditation for the people. Kitchen facilities are available on each floor which helps the patients and their bystanders. This is complemented by the presence of Priests and dedicated wardens which adds value to the services provided by Snehabhavan.
The role of Snehabhavan is very pertinent in a place like Vellore where people, not only from different parts of India but across the world come for treatment at CMC Vellore. Snehabhavan is always ready to lend its helping hand round the clock to the people in need by receiving people from the Katpadi Railway station and see them off carefully as well. Services like hospital guidance, patient navigation, Pastoral Care and Counselling are also available. The main aim is to provide holistic healing to the body, mind, and soul.
